GOP backs Myhra for auditor
State auditor candidate Pam Myhra, of Burnsville, was endorsed unanimously by acclamation June 1 at the Republican Party of Minnesota Convention in Duluth.
Myhra said she was deeply honored to receive the endorsement. She is a certified public accountant with an active license, former two-term Minnesota state representative and former audit manager at an international public accounting firm said.
“I am committed to serving the public — the taxpayers of Minnesota,” the former two-term House District 56A representative said in a statement. “I will lead the office of the state auditor in providing accountability and transparency in the use of government resources, our taxpayer dollars, through various financial and performance audits and reviews.”
Carrie Almond, immediate past president of the National Federation of Republican Women and a guest of Myhra at the convention, said, “It is not only a great day for Minnesota, but a great day for women all over the nation. With exceptionally qualified women like Pam Myhra running for public office Republicans are going to be victorious in the 2018 midterm elections.”
The office of auditor is currently held by DFLer Rebecca Otto.
